Shimizu-san, my interpreter, gave us some hotel suggestions, one of them being The Hotel Monterey. For a double room, the cost was reasonable and the room was very nice.
Our hotel is in the middle, in-front of the really large building.
The room was supplied with the New Testament and The Teaching of Buddha.
All Japanese rooms that I stayed in had a flashlight handy near the bed.
