Tier One Holiday Party

The Tier One Holiday Party was a blast. We send thanks to the Evans for hosting! (I want your white chili recipe Maegan.) I included some pictionary photographs below; it was a battle of girls vs. boys, with the girls winning of course.

While at the Dulles International Airport Ken had his picture taken with Obama; both parties appear very upbeat.

Smithsonian National Museum of American History

We visited the Smithsonian National Museum of American History with Ken's folks. After 2 years and a renovation, the museum had just reopened. I had visited the museum in 2003 and at that time the museum was displaying the flag that was unfurled from the roof of the Pentagon a day after 9-11-2001; the flag was an amazing sight. I included the 2003 photograph I took of the flag below. This time we had the opportunity to see The Star-Spangled Banner; photography was not permitted in the exhibition.

Ukrainian Sant Nikolas Day

During the month of December there are nightly performances at the Washington D.C. Temple Visitors' Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Each concert showcases a different talented community group. We attended the Ukrainian Theatre Performance; the costumes, music, and singing were a delight.
